Informix uses operating system usernames/passwords. You'll have to talk to
your Solaris administrator, or whoever setup the users on that Solaris box.
These would be the same username/passwords you can use to telnet to that box
with...
This is still valid if you are client/server, connecting from a client
machine (perhaps a Windows PC) using setnet32. The username/password
specified in setnet32 is the Solaris box username/password in your case...
Within Informix, database and table access rights are granted to valid
Solaris users. These rights are, of course, stored within Informix. If you
figure out the valid Solaris username/password but still get error messages
in dbaccess (for example) such as "cannot connect" etc., then your next
problem to solve is likely to be what the database access rights are/should
be (assuming Informix installation was correct/successful)...
