connecting to informix db using BDE

Hi, I have been trying for a couple of hours to connect to my Informix database using the Borland database engine. I have created an alias within BDE, but when I goto connect I get an error stating that my alias is incorrect. Can anyone give me a list of instructions that I need to follow in order to get this to work. What are the differences from connecting with an interbase db and an Informix db. I am assuming that some of the setting in the alias are different. Well, any and all help is welcome, Thanks, Danny
Is your SetNet correctly configured? Check if your ILogin Demo program is working. Are you connecting to Informix through ODBC or SQL Links in BDE? You can test it with the ilogin-demo. The second step depends on, if You are using ODBC or the informix- driver shipped with the enterprise version of BDE. If using ODBC, You have to do the ODBC-setup first. Check it with MS-Query e.g. Afterwards, or when not working with ODBC You have to configure Your driver for the BDE. Last step is to configure Your alias. If You still have any problems, please let me know, if You are using ODBC or not, and send me some hardcopies of the configuration-screens of the distinct tools, which are involved in the database-connection.
