termcap problem

hi , All I recently install informix dynamic server to linux but can't start up. When I enter "oninit" , it shows "Termcap entry too long" and then segmentation fault. How can I fix this problem ? thanks for help

You have had your termcap entry loaded into the TERM environment var by the shell instead of just the name of the terminal and the termcap buffer that Informix is using, based on old documentation that guaranteed that termcap entries would be <1K, is too small to hold the entry. At the shell level replace the literal TERM entry containing the entire termcap text with the name of the terminal, ie vt100 or xterm, and all will be well. Art S.
