RE: Data Replication
Posted in 2000
Perhaps the IS experience is not the same for all of us ... Last week I had to put RE to work between two HP9000 HP-UX10.20 running 7.31.UC3 and found problems following the manual's instructions with the cdr interface so I tried the RE Mngr in NT and also found problems, diff. thou ... So went to IS seeking help and got a not so effective response: ...Did you read the hole manual .... ...we don't have a simple walk - through example to send you ... ...we do the same here and don't have any problems .... ...we are here to help you with errors not to teach ... ... did you take the ER course .... at the end I found the solutions myself and finished the job. In other occasions I found valuable help in IS but not this time. And I do agree that the manual is not a good starting point for beginners. Sorry guys I didn't ask your help this time ... I was afraid to get the kind of answers I'm reading now. > N. They walked me through the initial setup and answered a whole bunch of questions. If you don't have a support contract, pay the one time charge.
