Re: PRESS: Informix in the News

However, you still using it! Sigh. I am, if I had a realistic choice in the matter I might not. I no longer have my nice HP 715. (bitter tears of remorse). Sure I could remove this garbage OS and pop up Linux, but then I don't match my company standard, I have no word processor, spreadsheet, Visio, Erwin etc. Nor do I have the 3-4 weeks it would take me to work out all of the issues and find replacement packages. Nor do I have the further 2-4 weeks to re-train myself on the new tools. I have to admit that the Microsloth PC has its place - it's a great way to work on documents, which appears to be how I spend my time these days. As long as I don't push the enevelope... Nobody likes GPF's, but why everybody uses Microsoft software? How Bill Gates became the biggest billionaire in the industry? M-O-N-O-P-O-L-Y. Bob F. has a very good point, it is foolhardy to compete with Micros$ft. Unfortunately they (MS) don't know their place - the desktop. Informix has the best technology in the database market, but why they have financial problems? Technology isn't enough!!! No argument there. However, we drift from the core topics of this newsgroup. This is primarily an Informix discussion and Oracle bashing group. ;-) jparker@epsilon.com wrote: > That's a scary thought - Microsoft going to the high end.
