Tim, In Informix terms "mirroring" is the mechanism of keeping a copy of specified dbspaces on a seperate disk, within the same machine. This could save your life in case of a disk crash, provided your mirrored chunk is in a different disk. Now if you are looking for "mirroring across systems", in Informix terms it is "data replication". Data replication allows you to duplicate ALL the data managed by a database server, on an entirely seperate database server. This could save your life, when your prmary db-server crashes. You can find documentation about this in Database Administrator's Guide. -- Have a nice day Felix K. Mathews mailto:fmathews@systems.dhl.com
