Hi, I'm writing a login screen for my application using NewEra 3.12. The screen consists for 2 textbox, login id and password. How can set the echo character in the password textbox such that it'll only display "*" when key is pressed. Thank you in advance. Best Regards Guan Kiat

I've done one by trapping the KeyPress event, and keeping the key in a string, whilst printing a number of #'s, equal to the length of the string, in the text box. However, you have to be very careful to trap all the events that can happen, such as deleting chars, pasting words from the clipboard, the user moving the cursor position with the mouse... Guan, The only proper way to achieve what you want is to use C-code. What you could do is make a special password class and give that the specific characteristics. It's been more than a year ago that I was involved with NewEra. I tried the approach that was suggested by another reponder, but that will lead to nothing. You have to dive into the world of C and find your solution there. regards, Henk guankiat wrote: > Hi, > > I'm writing a login screen for my application using NewEra 3.12.
