Thinking way back when I did this about a year ago and using Solaris7... We had the OS and Informix in the system disk and a series of DiskSuite mirrors for data (rootdbs, datadbs, indxdbs, logdbs, physdbs). DiskSuite was all fine and dandy for mirroring, but I was forced to follow all of Solaris's links to chmod and chown the actual devices to suite Informix. After that it was up without a problem.
