There are several metodes to upload from an external flat file. The most
flexible is proberly to use the "dbload" utility (which comes with the
db-engine). RTM
However if your flat file has comma as delimiter and has a fixed number of
fields per line it's more easy to use the ISQL command "load". You just
set the environment varible DBDELIMITER="," or use the delimiter clause
in your load-statement - fx.
LOAD FROM "foo.txt" DELIMITER "," INSERT INTO fooHowever make sure that your input file hasn't "\\" "," (your delimiter) or
newline (as a part of your date) in it. If is has - precede them with "\\".
Hope that the above is a lead, but if you has more questions please state
which Informix tools you have.
