RE: informix 7.3 on AIX 4.2.1

I have installed IDS 7.30.UC3-1 and IDS 7.30.UC3X3 on AIX 4.21. No onmonitor problems were encountered with either version. I installed 7.30.UC3 (UC5-1) several times on AIX 4.2.1 and I did not come across this problem. Did you do the installation by user "root"? Are the access rights correct (see $INFORMIXDIR/etc/IDSfiles)? Any other messages (maybe in the log file specified by MSGPATH) ? Yes, an Informix Technical Consultant did the installation and told us that informix 7.3 has a bug on AIX 4.2.1, then he installed informix 7.24.UC3 instead, it runs ok so far.
