when I issue the command onstat -g wst I get the response:
wait statistics not enabled.
also, when I query the sysmaster table syssesswts there are never any
values.
How does one enable wait statistics (and is this a recommended practice)

WSTATS 1
It's recoomended in engine tuning process.
