Re: oninit processes
Posted in 2000
Hi Michael,
All processes spawned by IDS are all oninit, which in Informx langauage
is called
virtual processor (VP). The function of each oninit is different, which
is called a
virtual processor class. To get the details of which oninit (VP) is
doing what, you can run
onstat -g glo and map the process id of the oninit with the pid columnof
the output and you would know what task each oninit is doing.
oninit (VP) can only pass a task to another oninit if that oninit is
doing the
same task. This is done automatically within IDS since oninits
performing
the same task share the same queue.
For a more detailed description of each oninit refere to the
Administrator's
Guide.
