What do you mean the application is run on the client PC? And how come the database is on an NT box? Are you using Informix 4GL or Dynamic 4GL? WE are using Informix 4GL, and the 4GL application in run from an NT workstation on our LAN, and the database is run on IDS 7.3 on an NT Server. /Kirk Don Ignacio <dignacio@openratings.com> wrote in message news:8ir0rl$q4m$1@news.xmission.com... > > What do you mean the application is run on the client PC? But C4GL/R4GL do not run on NT!?!??!? Anyway to you original question, SQL will be executed on the server, that does not mean that the 4GL was written to take any advantage of that fact. It may be querying with a very broad filter and further filtering the rows after they are returned by the server which MIGHT explain why you are seeing lots of activity on the client. Art S.
