I am writing an application using Visual Basic 5.0 as the
front end and Informix as the backend database.I am using
the DAO with ODBC direct as the database connectivity
library.I would like to know how can I manage transactions
in Informix SPL,since my clients guidelines are to use only
stored procedures for Data Manipulation. After searching
through the web,I found that Informix does an implicit
rollback of a transaction which is not committed.I tried it
out and I had to explicitly rollback the work I had begun
by BEGIN WORK.I want to know how can I handle Database level
exceptions in case of an error and how can I incorporate
this kind of exception handling using the SPL.Remember,I
am using Informix as DataSource for ODBC.Also, remember I
need to use SPL and SQL only,no Informix 4GL,ESQLC.This is
for all the Informix Gurus.Thanks

Look up RAISE EXCEPTION and ON EXCEPTION in the SPL sections of the Manual.
