7.11.UC1 Database Hangs & Error 908
I'm joining a new group who is experiencing database hangs and error
908s.
If someone is logged into Informix and/or is running a process, they hang
with no error messages.
Users trying to connect receive 908 errors, Attempt to connect to
database server failed.
The Informix logs show no errors, last thing written is checkpoint
completed.
Machine: NCR 3000 Series
UNIX: System 5 Release 4 version 3
Informix: 7.11.UC1
3 Informix Instances on this machine - Not sure if all are hanging or
not. They probably are.
All connected via TCP/IP.
Copies of onstat reveal nothing: No lock or latch problems. Nothing
waiting for buffers...

That's all the preliminary information.
I'm planning to try a shared memory connection in an attempt to isolate
the problem ( Thinking it may be TCP ).
Any similar experiences, comments (flaming not welcome or appreciated),
suggestions...
