OnTape Restore Failure

I am in need of some guidance - details follow. Do these details tell me I have a physically corrupt tape? Failure message received on tape 2 of 3 as follows: Please mount tape 2 on /dev/rmt/0m and press Return to continue ... Physical restore failed - The archive backup is corrupted. Like the message says the tape does not look like an Informix archive tape. Either it has become damaged or wiped or the operators put the TAPE#2 label on another tape and lost yours. Art S. But the problem did occur only with Blobspaces. Informix Corp. had resolved the problem at first with a bug-fix. Now ( Release 7.3x) this problem doesn't exist anymore.
