Look at the scripts in /etc/init.d in your Solaris box. They are linked to
S-files for startup in /etc/rc[23].d and K-files for kill on /etc/rc0.d.
Just look at some of these files and check out how there are start and stop
cases. The start case is to start informix and the stop case is to stop it.
Create a new file in init.d called informix and link it to S and K files in
rc2.d and rc0.d. Then put the commands into the script. Remember to specify
all relevant environment variables like PATH, INFORMIXDIR. INFORMIXSERVER.
ONCONFIG. etc.

Subject: oninit automatic startup
I need for informix to come online when our Solaris 7 server boots. I'm
not
sure which rc script I have to modify and how - I haven't done this for
Solaris 2.x yet.
If someone could tell me how to set up my startup scripts and set my
informix
variables, that would be great.
