Thanks to Art Kagel I've figured out how to run my report. I now want to pass a variable into sacego so my select will look like this: select question_id where user_id like "%PASSED IN PARAMMETER%" What is the syntax for that in the select statement? Do I prefix it with a $ and how do I pass it into the ace script? Is it a command line option I pass into sacego? Thanks for your help, I'm starting to like Informix Liz Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
In your variables section, use the declaration 'PARAMETER[X] CHAR <Variable name>' where X is the parameter number in question. Using the variable with the dollar sign ($). Command line usage is 'sacego report <parameter1> <parameter2> ... elizabeth1000@my-deja.com wrote: > Thanks to Art Kagel I've figured out how to run my report. As you are discovering, Informix never came out with all the non-standard extensions to SQL to permit reporting and forms that others like Oracle did because Informix already had great reporting tools like ACE and 4GL and great forms tools like PERFORM and 4GL and great fast utility writing tools like R4GL... Hmm there's a pattern developing here. ;-O Art S. Kagel
