Re: onload - ISAM error

Jeff,
You can't use onunload/onload across versions of informix. Onunload
does a pages by page unload, at the ISAM level, if the page structure
or ISAM file structure has changed in any way you will get errors.
Also I have encountered a bug in onunload/onload where if the table
has unused pages at the end of the allocation and there should be a
bit map page in that area the onload will fail.
The only reliable way to copy data from one version to another is by
unloading to ascii files ie: dbexport or sql unload statements.
Regards
David Ashby

I am trying to load ~7G of data using onload utility. The tape was
prepared on Infx7.20, and the I am trying to load it onto Infx7.24.
It had happened few time, when the first tape is almost done, the onload
crash and show the following message :
$ onload -t /dev/rst12 -b 96 -s 4000000 amciPlease mount tape and press Return to continue ...
ISAM error: Unexpected internal error
Checking the log file, I got :

I am sure that we have enough space for the data, infact, I ran onstat
-d just before the crash and it showed I have still 5G.
Does anyone have an idea why this is happening?
Thanks
Jeff
