arcunload not working - table restore

Am using arcunload like this: "arcunload -i /dev/rmt0 -s 4500000 -b 16 -o /tmp/arcunload.out -m /tmp/arcunload.tmp cars@cars:relation_rec" Our tape device is set in onconfig for 4.5 Gig, and our AIX 4.3 drive is using compression. The block size in onconfig is 16, yet AIX says 1024. The database name is cars and table is relation_rec. Have seen in isql what appears to be a databasename of cars@cars, but now I think the @cars the DBSERVERNAME. Also have seen the table specified as informix.relation_rec. The tape device is found, and data is read off the tape and what appears to be a temporary file is created in /tmp, named arcunl.relation_rec. This file grows to 7 or 8 Meg and then the command sits there, finally bombs out. The file arunl.relation_rec then disappears. If I look at it with "od -a", I see much configuration data and it looks good. The error I am getting: "Dbspace 1 not in reserved page" I have run it with a block size of 1024 and I get the error: "count(1016064) read(256) got(704512) error:0" Any help will be greatly appreciated for Informix newbie

Yes, cars is your dbservername, and since a backup is of a single server and arcunload can only restore from the server that was backed up, this is unnecessary (not to mention, problematic, as the code which parses the command line obviously did not expect to get a dbservername. I would have expected to get a different error message, but in any case, try it without the @cars designation, just cars:relation_rec.
