RE: 4GL weird compile behaviour
Posted in 2000
I used to get this behaviour sometimes when a compilation failed in pass 2 or 3. Try c4gl -c module.4gl or fglpc if you're using RDS on the command line and see what you get. Clearly one of your recent changes is responsible so try commenting out sections of the recent changes until it compiles successfully, and then work backwards. -----Original Message----- From: Big Jake [mailto:brownpmNObrSPAM@kalamazoo.k12.mi.us.invalid] Sent: 25 July 2000 19:44 To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: 4GL weird compile behavior We are running on the Informix 5.1 Online engine and version 4.20 of the 4GL tools. I wrote a report program a few months ago and it worked fine. Now when I try and make changes to it, it always says 'The following errors were discovered during compilation', but then doesn't list any errors, and the .err file is empty (0 bytes). If I compile the program again immediately it seems to compile, but when I go to run it nothing happens - I get a blank screen and 'Press return to continue'. I tried renaming the source program and recompiling, and also re-entered the entire program under a different name and still had the same problem. I am using the Program_compile option because I am including some routines provided by our Financial software vendor. As far as I can tell this is the only program that has this problem. If any one has any ideas how to get this program working again I would appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance.
