HOW CAN I MONITOR SSA RAID ARRAY I/O?

I am wondering if "iostat" is still the unix tool to monitor RAID-10 disks array? I have 3 stripe set (hdisk31-hdisk33) on my system that have 4 9GB drive on each stripe set. When I use iostat command, it seems that those hdisk devices for RAID10 are very active. How do I know the I/O statistics on those individual disk contained on each stripe sets. tty: tin tout avg-cpu: % user % sys % idle % iowait 0.0 619.7 18.1 3.9 78.1 0.0 Disks: % tm_act Kbps tps Kb_read Kb_wrtn hdisk31 45.5 6789.2 151.9 13584 0 hdisk32 88.5 11021.4 231.4 22052 0 hdisk33 90.5 10335.7 295.9 20680 0 Thanks for your input! You might be able to get this from from filemon/svmon, if not check out the performance tools with the bos. Don't use them, ring IBM and ask for the address to download the patched ones (it's the Austin, Texas site), AFAIK the tools on the 4.3.x release are not correct. If you're really stuck I can probably find a copy somewhere remics@my-deja.com wrote: > > I am wondering if "iostat" is still the unix tool to monitor RAID-10 > disks array? > > I have 3 stripe set (hdisk31-hdisk33) on my system that have 4 9GB > drive on each stripe set.
