The menu command seems allways to pick up it's attributes from the window in which it is displayed giving rise to the very bad behaviour you describe. Our workaround is to open a separate window for the menu with no attributes defined. I have never tested whether it is only the reverse attribute that gives these problems, or some other set also does so. The result for us is that menues are allways in black and white. Throughout times Informix has had significant problems with proper implementation of attributes. Even in the latest releases they are far from perfect. I don't expect them to upgrade this now.
