Informix/NT backup agent problems

This past weekend we had problems restoring our Informix 7.30 TC9 database that we backed up using Computer Associates ArcserveIT v6.61 with their Informix Backup Agent. During the restore, it kept asking for a second tape that was an old backup that had been overwritten, but everything we needed from the previous night's backup was all on the first tape. After working with Computer Associates and Informix, it was determined that Informix had a bug with their storage manager and the information it passed back to ArcserveIT, what happened was Informix did not totally search the file Informix\\etc\\ixbar.0 and it sent the wrong tape name back to the storage agent, to solve the problem, we made a copy of the ixbar.0 file then edited it to have only the items from the backup tape we had, when we restarted the backup, everything was restored. I assume this would happen with other backup agents besides ArcserveIT and Informix said they would log it for a bug fix. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact me. That is an operator error. And, is the ArcserveIT certified for use with Informix 7.30.TC9? Nona
