Hi, Informix-er, We are planning to install Informix 2000 Server on some HP cluster environment which contains majorly two HP L class servers and an HP AutoRAID shared file system. All informix system software and data will have to reside on the HP AutoRAID shared file system. Have anybody did anything similiar to this? If yes, I would appreciate any comments, suggestions, experience, hints on the configuration, installation or usuage... TIA. Wendy

We had to move from 9.04 to 10 since 9.04 did not support the internal boot drives which each machine needed. Make sure each server has a seperate boot drive.. We used 2 E45 servers with a RAID box in the middle The whole lot came rack mounted as one unit! a) Driver: Where is your forklift truck? Me: Well there's me at 5ft 6' and a 6ft skinny administator and it's half past seven in the evening. TIP: Your in the middle of Sauchiehall street in the middle of Glasgow, Scotland so grab a passing rugby team and get them to help you get it off the truck. TIP Be aware that if you try to get it in a door that had a little METAL raised bit at the bottom that YOU WILL BEND THE RAISED BIT. When security ask who bent the door...KEEP QUIET.. TIP When taking up to the 2nd floor in a lift rated at 800 kilos with 2 of you in it then you might cause the lift to breakdown the next morning! David. PS Make sure you duplicate everything including separate UPS's. Separate SCSI bus's. In a clustered HP configuration the master server uses network packets to ensure that the standby server is alive so consider 2 network cards + seperate cabling per machine. >TIA. >Wendy >
