Did you performed a switch from "unbuffered" to "no logging" mode or did you set the LTAPEDEV to "/dev/null" ?. If you only set LTAPEDEV to /dev/null the error must occurs again because the create index transaction is still logged. Because the logdbs is written "Round-Robin" other transactions performed during this create index statement cause than a -458 if the logdbs is too small. In case of only setting LTAPEDEV to /dev/null repeat the create index if you are alone on the database (no other transactions) If you really set the logging mode to "no logging" check if the tmpdbs has enough free space to save the new index - During index creation perform an "onstat -d [-r 60]". The calculation of the index size is described in the Admin Guide (43-57). Note that the varchar type has another formula.
