dropping temporary db space that is on bad disk

Hello,
I am having problems dropping the temporary db space. Any help would be
appreciated.
platform: SunOS, sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-4
informix: Informix Dynamic Server 2000 Version 9.21.UC1
Three days ago I had realized that the disk on which is my tempdbsp1 is bad
and sorting resulted in assertion failure which crashed the db server.
I have edited TEMPDBS in onconfig file so it doesn't use that temp dbspace
and restarted the db server.
The disk was deemed ok then(as in /var/adm/messages 'disk ok') and
tempdbs1(only chunk in db space) was not marked as down.
Then the day after disk went down (forever) and is now 'offline'.
I have just attempted to drop that temporary space using onspaces which
returned - can't dropp DB Space - no such dbspace and error in online.log
I/O read chunk 4, pagenum 2, pagecnt 1 --> errno = 5
whith errors in /var/adm/messages
Jan 12 16:53:48 dbasd unix: WARNING: /pci@6,4000/scsi@4,1/sd@0,0 (sd105):
Jan 12 16:53:48 dbasd i/o to invalid geometry
So onstat -d says it is there and I can't drop it for obvious reasons.
dbasd1$ onstat -d|grep tempdbs1
37dee598 4 0x2001 4 1 N T informix tempdbs1
3713c998 4 4 2 1048573 1048520 PO-
/var/informix/db/tempdbs1
How can I get rid of it now (I know I should have dropped it immediately
after restarting db server with TEMPDBS without it)? Why Informix doesn't
mark it as down? (As once a day some cron job(?) attempts to access it and I
have assertion failure with the same error
mt_aio_wait(491a6c00)
16:53:48 chunkio(7, 0x1ac38800, 0x2, 1, 0x3713c998, 33, 1) errno 5
Many thanks

One for tech support I'd guess.
Perhaps you can touch a filesystem file and link /var/informix/db/tempdbs1
to it, they can dial in and patch it to make it look like an empty tempdbs
so you can drop it?
Or, if you're feeling really adventurous, create an identical temp dbspace
on a dummy instance, dd its contents to /var/informix/db/tempdbs1 and see if
you can get the instance to accept it when it starts, so you can drop it.
Or ....
