The way we run them is we have an informix directory set up for each version, ie. /informix/7,21 & /informix/7.24. We have the enviroment variables for INFORMIXDIR, INFORMIXSERVER, and ONCONFIG set appropriately. Then it's just a matter of executing the right profile for each instance. Make sure you use a different server name and server number in the onconfig files and you shouldn't have any problems.
