I need to know if (and how) to do the following: Have a form that allows the user to type in a couple of fields about a person (possilby stored in table "people"). If there is no data for that person in the "people" table, the user can go ahead and enter data for both the "people" table and some other table, say, "form_a". If that person exists in "people", or if there are multiple matches in people, the user is allowed to select the proper person, and fill out the rest of "form_a". What I'm trying to avoid is the re-entering of a moderate amount of data on a person each time an entry for "form_a" needs to be filled out. Potentially, there could be hundreds of "form_a" rows for a single person. Also, there could be "form_[a-z]", each based on a person that *must* exist in the "people" table. I've looked at table joins, but I'm not sure exactly how to do (or if it can be done) this sort of thing. email, thx, I'll summarize if anyone cares. (Code fragments would be *really* helpful.) -- J.
