I have an esqlc program that has to read all the non committed records from an informix table. While Im doing this other program s may or may not have locks on records in the table. My question is how do I read only the committed records from a table and ignore the ones currently being updated or locked by another program.

Which is it committed or uncommitted? For the former, any ISOLATION LEVEL except DIRTY READ. For the latter ISOLATION LEVEL DIRTY READ will let you see uncommitted rows but distinguishing them from the committed ones will be difficult. Art S. Kagel

SET ISOLATION TO COMMITTED READ
