On HP/UX 11.0 64Bit IDS 7.31.FC4 Why do I hit a Shared Memory limit (Resident + Virtual + Message) of 866 Meg?

Can anyone help me get over this limit? I have an HP Box with 2Gig Ram and I can only grab 866 Meg for Informix. I have bumped up the shm kernel parameters and rebuilt the kernel, but maybe there is something I am missing. * Tunable parameters STRMSGSZ 65535 bufpages (NPROC*3) dbc_max_pct 2 dbc_min_pct 2 maxdsiz_64bit 2952790016 maxfiles 2048 maxfiles_lim 2048 maxswapchunks 4096 maxtsiz_64bit 2952790016 maxuprc ((NPROC*9)/10) maxusers 200 maxvgs 80 msgmap (MSGTQL+2) msgmax 32768 msgmnb 65535 msgmni (NPROC) msgseg (MSGTQL*4) msgssz 128 msgtql (NPROC*10) nfile 114548 nflocks (NPROC) ninode (8*NPROC+2048) nproc ((MAXUSERS*3)+64) nstrpty 60 nstrtel (MAXUSERS) nswapdev 25 num_tachyon_adapters 5 semmni 4096 semmns 4096 semmnu (NPROC-4) semume 64 semvmx 32768 shmmax 4294967296 shmmni 1024 shmseg 1024 swapmem_on 0 timeslice 1 Thanks, Andrew
Andrew, Have you tried JUMPING over 866M? That is to say, increase the values significantly for BUFFERS to ensure over 1G of memory requirement. Had a similar problem in 10.20 and 'lucked' into the resolution when we got frustrated enough to say "let's just grab all we can and see what happens" instead of increasing little by little until we got stopped.
