Somewhere in the NT file system there is a file called SERVICES. On
Win95, it is in C:\\WINDOWS. You need to find out from your DBA or Unix
Sys Admin what is the service number for the Informix db server. Put an
entry in the NT SERVICES file for that service like:
ifmx 1923/tcp # this is the service for my database server
This must match the entry in the /etc/services file on the Unix DB box.
Run SETNET32 as well and create proper entries for your server and
host. This should have been covered in the I-Connect setup. Reboot and
go.
This will not necessarily make JDBC work. That must be properly
configured as well. But if your only problem is not finding the
service, then you should be all right.
