Well, then you may try to set uid/passwd at the odbc-datasource level. Eg. on the Control Panel, goto Data Sources (ODBC), select the appropiate datasources (those used by Access as linked tables) and set the uid/passwd there. I admit this is not an elegant solution if there are many linked tables... Regarding your question "Why?" I have no clue. Csomi Ps. one question: which setnet did you install first/last and where? Im not a CLI/ODBC expert but to my understanding the dll-s used by CLI/ODBC can be found under the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\SharedDLLs You may check there whether you use or not the correct verions - but again I could be wrong... -----Original Message----- From: Simone [mailto:riker66@katamail.com] Sent: Sunday, December 17, 2000 8:59 AM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Re: Informix CLI 32 and Access This (the most logical solution) do not work on my PC. Why? I set the password in the SETNET utility but access still asking me the password!!! I have installed on the pc the 16 bit version on setnet (setnet.exe) also. Is this the rason? It's no possible set the password from the ODBC control pannell for the ODBC/CLI. It's necessary use the SETNET utility to set the password and ACCESS ignore the password setted from the SETNET utility. Anyone have never used INFORMIX ODBC/CLI 2.5 with Access? I can belive it, I am the only in the world?
