Log is full!

I am just beginning with Informix. My database does not require backing up. If it crashes, I will just rebuild it with my scripts. Currently, my new database is full and I can't figure out how to archive the log to continue. I am reading this section: Defining and Emergency Volume Set and Volume I am running Informix 7.3 on NT. It keeps referring to a utility called "ondatartr", I don't see this in my informix\\bin directory. Can anyone list the steps and commands I need to run to just dump the logs and keep going? TIA.
How about 'ontape -a'???
Edit onconfig file LTAPEDEV=/dev/NUL, and ontape -a

I assume that your problem is that all your logical log files are filled with
transactions and not backupped yet. What Informix then says is, okay, all
available log files are occupied and not backupped yet so for not loosing (old)
transactions, I'm not writing any more transactions to the log files that still
contain these old transactions. The database engine is put in "BLOCKED' mode
then, which is not an error, as many people sometimes assume (The Informix
Engine gets the blame most of the times in this situation, which is not
correct!!!, more often it's due to a defect tape unit or something like
that!!!), but this is the perfectly correct thing to do from the point of view
of the database engine, because otherwise transactions, which are not on tape
yet would be lost.
Now what you probably will have to do is in the onconfig file
%INFORMIXDIR%/etc/%ONCONFIG
(On UNIX ${INFORMIXDIR}/etc/${ONCONFIG})
you have to give the parameter LTAPEDEV the value NUL or a value that represents
a working tape unit (tape0 or tape1 on NT) and then backup all logfiles with the
following command:
ontape -a
(or onbar -l if you're using onbar)
When you run onstat -l to monitor your logfiles, you'll see that
every logfile will again contain a 'B' in it's flags (means 'backupped')
