I use INFORMIX Universal Server (9.13), which allows you to define row
types and typed tables. This is well documented in the INFORMIX manuals
for Universal Server - specifically the "Tutorial", chapters 12 and 14.
The documentation is available online from INFORMIX's web site

You have to realise that INFORMIX is not ORACLE. The methods for
achieving the same goals vary. You don't write a C++ program the same
way you write a C program. Similarly, an SPL procedure will differ from
a PL/SQL procedure.
Good luck,
Avi.
