engine crash with 408 error

hi all, I am getting a 408 error when users are trying to input data to a lvarchar field through a coldfusion developed web application. It's causing the engine to crash with an assertion error and not many other clues. The Informix engine is 9.14 on Solaris 2.6. The data is then corrupt and I have to go through the table (fortunately it's little!) and remove the corrupt row. I have a tech support case on this #814416 - but it's not getting solved. Any experiences or help would REALLY be appreciated! thanks, maria ---------------------------------------------------------------- Maria L. Do you have any VARCHAR fields? If so, Informix views those as Blobs and
you have to do some special handling with those. Informix should tell you
to do the following to capture the exact statement causing the problem but
our problem was with VARCHAR fields. The problem was the programmer was
either putting to much data in the Blob field or not building the Blob
before inserting it into the record.
Set env var with export AFDEBUG=1; And restart the server.
This will hang the Online server when assertion failure happens.
at that time ,
Please get 'onstat -g ses ses_id > ses.ses_id'
'onstat -a > stat.a'
And with the pid in the file ses.ses_id,
execute'# /usr/proc/bin/pstack pid > pstack.pid' with root login
