Well, the above that is the BEST choice for ensuring you can restore,
but archecker works great with ontape when that is not feasible.
Validate Archive with archecker:
vi $INFORMIXDIR/etc/ac_config.std
Make the following changes/additions:
AC_MSGPATH /usr/informix/work/ac_msg.log # archecker message log
AC_STORAGE /tmp # Directory used for
temp storage
AC_VERBOSE 1 # 1 verbose messages 0
terse messages
AC_TAPEDEV /dbbackup/archive # TAPEDEV in onconfig
used for archive
AC_TAPEBLOCK 96 # same as in TAPEBLK in
onconfig
Then run archecker:
Run archecker -tdsv
IBM Informix Backup and Restore Guide has all the instructions.
