Wyse-75 Termcap Again!
Posted in 1992
I am still unable to get our Wyse-75 terminals to display underlines and blinking fields. As I stated in an earlier message, here's what I'm doing: a) using the termcap file supplied by Informix (version 4.0). b) setting the Wyse-75 terminals to emulate DEC vt100. c) setting the Unix TERM to vt100. d) setting the Unix TERMCAP to point to the Informix termcap file. Everything works fine except the blinking or underlining. Screen form fields with the attribute "color = underline" or "blink" continue to show up in reverse video on the Wyse-75. Yesterday, I logged in at the console which is NOT a Wyse-75 but a Unisys SVT1220. On that terminal (with its setup fixed to emulate a DEC vt100) the blinking and underlining work perfectly! Back on the Wyse-75, I still get reverse video. According to the Wyse-75 manual, the sequence ESC[2m is supposed to give underlining. I looked at the ZA entry for the DEC vt100 in the Informix termcap file and saw that 4 is pushed for underlining. When I edited the file and changed it to 2, I still got reverse video. The Wyse-75 manual lists only three values for the ESC[ m sequence: 0 - dim, 1 - inverse, and 2 - underline. There's no 4 ! Is the Wyse-75 just a cheap dumb terminal???? I mean *really* cheap? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. --- John Baker =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= John Baker, USAISC-Lex, Lexington - Blue Grass Army Depot, Lexington, KY jbaker@lexington-emh2.army.mil Phone: (606) 293-3644, 293-3743 DSN: 745- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
