I am doing ISM onbar backup-restore test in ISM Version 11.50.FC5.
Steps i follow is as below:
My database in logging and buffered mode.
1. onmode -lc (forced logical log and checkpoint)
2. onbar -b -L 0 (0 level backup)- below is extract of bar_act.log:

4. Took the system offline and Restore from the level 0 backup: onbar -r
5. Restoration completed successfully.. no error in bar_act.log
6. Dropped table is still missing in the database.
Please help me to find any missing link. Let me know if any log or more

onbar -r restaures the instance to the most recent possible time, so thedrop table statement is also "restored" when aplying logical-logs... andthe table is dropped again.
This is the expected behaviour. If you want to recover the dropped table
you can:
Restore the complete instance to a point in time older than the "drop
table"
Restore only the dropped table using "archecker"

Hi,
check the bar_act.log file to see what really was
restored. I'm sure you will see that the logical
logs also were restored, including the log file
that contains the log record of the drop table.
It should be a good example of how close we
get with the restore to the "point of failure"
(in your case when you took the server
off-line). This is also due to the log salvage
functionality. You can tell ON-Bar to restore
only up to a specific point in time ("PIT
restore"). Please read the manual for
more information.
Regards, Martin
