Run tcpipdump/snoop on the linux host and look at the dump. The linux logins are authorized by PAM mod, if you have syslogd setup correctly, it should write to /var/adm/messages. Do you have 660 perms on infmx ? Can you connect using ilogin ? Did you setup your setnet32 ?
