To increase the size of a dbspace, you need more raw space. This can be accomplished by either increasing the size of an existing logical volume or by creating a new one. Once the raw space is available, you can add a new chunk to that dbspace. The latter method makes it easier to match Informix chunks to AIX logical volumes. Therefore, it is the recommended approach. OnLine doesn't recognise AIX's logical volumes in the same way AIX does.
