Hi there, It is not very fair to delete the message I put here one week ago without giving me any response. My problem was the following : Does anyone can tell me how to deal with Informix -1210 error. It appears sometimes in my programmes and I cannot find how and where it occurs. Is there any trick to track this error ? I'am using Informix 4GL v6.04.UC1 with Informix SE v7.22.UC2 on a SGI Origin200 server (os IRIX 6.5). Thank you by advance Best regards T. Baribaud
Hi Thierry, try "whenever any error stop", at the beginning of your(s) program(s). That should give you the line where the problem happens. Hi there, Thank you very much for all of you for your help. The 1210 error still resists. Here you are some complementary points : 1) The DBDATE variable equals dmy4/ for every user. 2) I'am not using RDS but C4GL to compile the 4GL modules. 3) The 1210 error cannot be reproduced. I do not have any idea where it occurs. 4) The programme concerned by this error is about 200,000 4GL lines and 450 screens. It runs 24h a day and 365 days a year. It is not possible to use a WHENEVER ERROR STOP to see where the error occurs. 5) The 1210 error always appears twice spaced by 1 second. It can appear ten times a day or can be unseen during ten days. 6) This error is not seen by the users but in the error logfile started by STARTLOG. 7) This error may be produced by an uninitialized variable or by a bad parameter counts between functions. As far as I know, there is no Informix tools to check theses cases. A manual examem is prohibitive due to the big amount of code to scan. If you have any idea, please tell me ... Thank you by advance. Best regards T. Baribaud
