But this doesn't really change the fact that the contents of the manuals are several times better than the old ones. Looking at the complaints that Stephen Richardson listed I would say that taking all the manuals together most of his complaints have been dealt with. There are manuals giving clear examples - first time for this. Most information is indexed properly - which it wasnt. A lot of the information that you used to learn on the courses is now in the manuals - though I'm sure you will still learn new bits and pieces on the courses. Lastly "some" of the old undocumented features are now listed - though not all, I think his example of a database names function is one that is yet to be included?
