No comment on the TS stuff, but I'll take a stab at your problem ;-)
-874 is a floating point exception. Now I don't know for sure, but I
would sure suspect a compatibility problem between informix and that
64 bit version of Unix you are running. Are you running a 64 bit port
of informix, or are you trying to run in some sort of 32 bit
compatibility mode? The "unknown error message" part may be due to
your using ISQL - the version you have may be old enough that it
doesn't have the error message for that particular error code. If you
installed ISQL after the server, or other tools, you may have
overwritten a newer message file with an older copy.
