RE: Database initialisation
Posted in 2000
Your onconfig probably has numerous things going into the root dbspace.
Your logs will go into the root dbspace when you initialise.
Your phydbs may go into your root dbspace.
The sysmaster and sysutil databases will also have to go into the root
dbspace.
Something like
( LOGFILES * LOGSIZE ) + PHYSFILE + sysmaster database + sysutil database
So when you initialise use only 5 or 6 logs and try and make them smallish -
about 1Mb will suffice.
Also initialise with a fairly small PHYSFILE - about 10 Mb will be ok.
Once you have got things up and running then you can add a proper dataspace
for the physdbs and you can create some dataspaces for your logs. Then you
should be able to move logs and phys out of the root dbspace.
