Ontape logs

Hi all!
I'm new with the Informix and I'm wondering if it's possible to change the
ontape log location from tape to disk?
Is there any problems if that is possible?
I didn't found enough information about ontape logs in books.
I hope somebody can help me.
Thanks in forward.

Yeah U can always do that
in the onconfig file modify the following
TAPEDEV <path_to_file>
LTAPEDEV <path_to_same_or_different_file>
Change the TAPESIZE as per the size of ur informix system.Default is 10 MB,
so if ur system is bigger than this u'll be asked to insert another tape.

There is no problem sending logical logs to disk. I do this using my
ALARMPROGRAM (in the IIUG Software Repository package utils3_ak) to
backup each log as it fills and rename and compress the file preparing
the empty filename specified in LTAPEDEV for the next session. That
package also includes a simplistic shell script to accomplish the same
thing. The latest version of my ALARMPROGRAM, which has not been
posted yet, also handles the ALL LOGS FULL condition in the same way.
