Hi Art,
I suppose that the Bufwaits Ration you mentioned is a calculated value. I
want to check our system. How is it done?
Thanks

Hi Daniel ,
There was a great script written by someone on this news group to calculate the
BR %. I forget the authors name (sorry) but here it is.
It might also be found at the IIUG not checked to see if it is there
cut here
===========================
onstat -p | /usr/xpg4/bin/awk '
/[a-zA-Z]/{
for (i=1; i <= NF ; i++ ) {
name[i]=$i ;
}
}
/[0-9]/{
for (i=1; i <= NF ; i++ ) {
content[name[i]]=$i ;
}
}
END {
ixdaRA = content["ixda-RA"];
idxRA = content["ixd-RA"];
daRA = content["da-RA"];
RApgsused = content["RA-pgsused"];
print "Read Utilization (UR): ",((RApgsused /( ixdaRA + idxRA + daRA) )*100),"%";
bufwaits = content["bufwaits"];
bufwrits = content["buwrits"];
pagreads = content["pagreads"];
print "BufWaits Ratio(BR): ", ((bufwaits/(pagreads + bufwrits)) *100),"%";
}
'
============================================================
Hope this helps
Cheers

BR = ((bufwaits) / (pagreads + bufwrits)) * 100.0
These are as displayed on the onstat -p output (these may also be extracted
from the SMI tables).

Thanks, it was veyr usefull. But there's a little error I believe
bufwrits = content["buwrits"];
should be
bufwrits = content["bufwrits"];
