Upgrading to Informix 12.10.FC6 with HDR

I am planning an Informix server upgrade from v11.70.FC7 to 12.10.FC6. I have a read-only secondary server replicating in HDR. (HP-UX 11.31.ia64) Questions: I start by breaking the replication and bringing both sides down. 1. Do I upgrade Informix on the Primary and the Secondary servers and simply restart replication (onmode -d <primary/secondary> <servername>) OR 2. Once the upgrade of Primary is complete, take an L 0 archive and restore the upgraded Secondary server and restart the replication. Is there a third option I may not know about? Thank you.

Reply: In this particular case (upgrading from 11.70 to 12.10.xC6), you would go with option #2 (upgrade the primary, take new L0 archive and restore replication from scratch). Option #2: Upgrade the primary and restore the secondary from archive (or using ifxclone). Art Art S.
