Online 7.1 IBM590H Thanks
Posted in 1995
A couple of weeks ago I put out a request for experience and/or information on an upgrade to the on-line engine with our specific platform, I was quite please at the handful of responses I got which were quite helpful and assisted us in preparation for our upgrade. I also noted that in scanning the ever-increasing volume of network postings that we might consider structuring our "subject" entries to assist us on focusing on those messages that mean something to us. Oftentimes a message carries a subject that simply doesn't let you have much of an idea of what it is about. When the repliers to that--and the repliers to that -- and ( as the old commercial used to maddeningly say, and so on and so on), use the same subject it becomes a little muddled. I don't know what the "standard" ought to be but I'd find it helpful to see Ques. ONLINE 7.1 on IBMn.n.n or Ques. I4GL Forms error -nnnn or Informix media distribution issue or Ans. tape error in log backup or Meeting Announcement or Complaint-Network abuse Quite a few people do provide informative subject entries, but we just might do better for all our sakes. Thanks again to those who were so helpful with their responses. -- Con Woodall Colorado St. U.; Veterinary Teach. Hosp.; Ft.
