Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Graeme Barnett loaded an exported database into Informix SE 7.24 on Linux and got error 1205 (invalid month in date) and error 1766. He found it ran in US date mode. QueriX 4GL / Mehdi advised matching the DBDATE environment variable to the source system. Jonathan Leffler recommended DBDATE=DMY4/ and setting DBCENTURY to P. No confirmation of the result was given.

I'm trying to use informix SE v 7.24 to import a previously exported
database. I exported the previous database using SCO Opern Server 5, and
Informix V 7. However, that should make no difference.
The problem that I'm having is that it gives me an invalid month in date
when I try and load any of the data into the newly created database.
error 1205 and error 1766 cannot open olutil.iem.
Please advise,
Cheers,
Graeme

I've managed to work out that the version I've downloaded is working in US
date mode. How do you make this work in DDMMYY format.

check your environment DBDATE (echo $DBDATE) it should be in the same format
as the environment
you exported the database from. i.e. DBDATE=dmy4/ is different to
DBDATE=mdy4/ and so on.--

Try to avoid 2-digit years -- they lead to confusion.
Set DBDATE=DMY4/; it will handle 2-digit and 4-digit years.
Worry about the correct setting for DBCENTURY; I suspect that
your data will benefit from the value 'P', meaning all dates
occurred prior to today's date.
